TBR #42; Love Road

Welcome, reader/s! For a while now, I’ve been writing a bi-weekly post about books that are on
my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

The two books I’m going to be talking about today are really on the opposite ends of the spectrum. The first book is a YA Mystery, and the second book is a New Adult Contemporary.

The first book that I will be talking about is Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. GoodReads has Jellicoe Road genre’d as Young Adult, Romance, Mystery, & Realistic Fiction.

I’ve actually seen on GoodReads that Jellicoe Road is titled as “On the Jellicoe Road.” Which I thought was slightly odd, but seeing as how the book was originally published in 2006, so it’s understandable that the the book received both a new cover and new title.

I actually heard about Jellicoe Road a few years ago when it was popular on booklr (book tumblr) for a hot minute. Another incentive for me to read Jellicoe Road was that the book takes place in Australia!

Reading the synopsis tells me that Jellicoe Road will be a very hush hush book. I haven’t read anything that seems to be too upsetting about the story, so I really don’t know what will happen. Everything is shrouded in mystery.

The second book that I will be talking about is called Amour Amour by Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie. Amour Amour is a New Adult Contemporary Romance.

I’ve had my eye on Amour Amour for a while. I don’t know what to expect from this novel eexpect taht it’s a New Adult romance, and that it takes place in a citcus. Apparently the lead in the story falls inlove with the Circus Master, who is also the leads’ partner in their act? I have no idea. It’s been a few years since Amour Amour has been published, and since then the book has gotten a sequel, which is both interesting and slightly disappointing. I really wanted Amour Amour to be a stand alone novel.

Have you read either of these books?
If you have, what did you think of them?
If you haven’t, do you think you’re going to?

Happy Reading!
Adele
