TBR Thursday: Nerve

I have a bit of a TBR problem: my TBR pile is huge. If I stacked all the books up, it would probably be taller than me. So I thought that every Thursday I would feature a book that is on my pile and a reason as to why I got it in the first place. I should have plenty to last me quite a few weeks!

Feel free to join in with your own TBRs!

Nerve Jeanne Ryan

A high-stakes online game of dares turns deadly.

When Vee is picked to be a player in NERVE, an anonymous game of dares broadcast live online, she discovers that the game knows her. They tempt her with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page and team her up with the perfect boy, sizzling-hot Ian. At first it’s exhilarating–Vee and Ian’s fans cheer them on to riskier dares with higher stakes. But the game takes a twisted turn when they’re directed to a secret location with five other players for the Grand Prize round. Suddenly they’re playing all or nothing, with their lives on the line. Just how far will Vee go before she loses NERVE?

Why it’s on my TBR pile

I didn’t buy this book. In fact, it came as a total surprise when it was delivered. I had won a giveaway on Twitter but the book never arrived, so I contacted the blogger who ended up sending me his own copy of the book in the giveaway and this one as well!

I know that this has been made into a film, which I believe is now on Netflix, but I always like to read the book before seeing the film. In all honesty, I keep forgetting I have this book, probably because I didn’t buy it myself. But looking at the blurb, I am intrigued though I don’t think it would be something I would pick up in the bookshop myself. You never know, I may be pleasantly surprised!

Have you read Nerve? What did you think of it?
