Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.
Today’s TBR Tuesday post will feature two books: One Past Midnight by Jessica Shirvington, and, The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johsnon. One great thing I know about these two books already is that they’re both stand-alone’s!
I actually bought these two books a while ago from the library. They had a huge sale and I just happened upon it. So having these two books on my TBR is kinda weird! Not going to lie about that..
The first book I’ll be talking about is One Past Midnight by Jessica Shirvington — Young Adult, Fantasy, Romance, Contemporary, Science Fiction.
One Past Midnight actually sounds pretty interesting! The main premise of the book is that the main character, Sabine, has always lived two lives.
Every twenty-four hours she “shifts,” living each day twice. In one life, Sabine has everything: popular friends, perfect grades, expensive clothes, and the guy everyone wants. In the other, Sabine’s family struggles financially, and her friends are considered rebels. But then she meets Ethan. He’s gorgeous and challenging, and he makes her feel like she’s never felt before.
I don’t know about you, but One Past Midnight sounds pretty interesting!! I’m most looking forward to reading what causes Sabine to have the ability to lead to -very- different lives.
The second book this Tuesday is The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson — Young Adult, Science Fiction – Dystopia, Fantasy, Romance.
I’ll be honest with you, when I first read the synopsis for The Summer Prince, I totally thought that the story was about Faeries! — It’s actually why I bought The Summer Prince in the first place. Now that I know The Summer Prince is more about a futuristic Brazil, and not about faeries, I’m still very intrigued at what will happen.
I’m glad that I bought this book! I look forward to reading The Summer Prince and finding out why the Summer Prince’s always end up dying. Im thinking maybe because Summer ends, so they end up dying as well? Who knows! The summer Princes could end up being sacrifices, too. There are so many possibilities.
