A sweet love story mixed with demi gods, deities and interfering best friends. I fell in love with this story straight away, Kenyon’s story telling brings such life to the characters that can fall into the cliche bracket.

I love that feeling you get when a book surprises you. Like the plot twist or the language style, the author has chosen. If you are anything like me, you end up reading a lot of one genre and kind of get used to similar plots and characters. So when I stumbled across The Fantasy Lover, I thought “what the hell” I might as well give it a whirl, and I am so glad I did!
The heroine Grace, a sex therapist who’s previous relationship, has scarred her from being intimate with anyone. Ironic given her profession. She is witty, sassy and adorably shy.
Kenyon’s style is modern and relatable, within the first chapter you meet the heroine, her best friend and learn quickly that she really needs to get laid *lol* You can imagine both of them being your friends and having a great laugh.
The Hero Julian, a Macedonian love-slave is trapped in a book and can only be realised when the person holding the book requests him. He is stubborn, gorgeous and damaged by what has happened in his life.
I love the mixture of cheek in this book. It could have been just a whole book full of smutty sex, except it wasn’t. It was a sweet story about how one woman saw through the sex appeal and help a man become who he was meant to be. Thrown into the mix is the history of the gods (Greek) and who Julian really was. Plus the side characters complimented the storyline, which left you wanting more (perfect for future books).
Overall a really great read, I am definitely going to start reading this series ASAP.
