review 1: This book was predictable, but interesting. It brought nothing new to the genre, and it wasn't unforgettable in any sense. But I enjoyed it.I did connect with both the characters. The alternating POV's got a little screwey sometimes, but not unbearably so. The 'bad guy' of the novel was easily guessed from nearly the beginning. So no surprises there. Actually, this book had NO surprises what so ever. The h was likable due to her funny personality and fierce need to protect kids. The H was likable even broken. He was a bit frustrating in how long he tip toes around his attraction, but it wasn't eye roll worthy. I think the best part of this book were the side characters. I LOVED Mitch and Jared. Both were pretty entertaining. I will probably continue this series when I have... more a book slump and free time.
review 2: The story was okay. Nothing that was so amazing I wanted to punch myself in the face, but an easy, decent read for the genre. It would, however, benefit greatly from a good, thorough once-over by a copy editor. I almost gave this one star because of the many (repetitive) mistakes. "Use to" and "suppose to" happen over and over and over again...along with many misplaced, misused or absent apostrophes. Seeing these things in books I'm reading while trying to relax and enjoy myself winds up making my ass twitch. less
