THE WOMEN

THE VERDICT

Yaaaaaaay! Fantastic! Entertaining!! Uber!!!

When we ask for better Nollywood movies, what we ask for are movies that relates with Nigeria and Nigerians, quality production, creativity, time, resources and skills invested in them. “THE WOMEN” assured me Nollywood will get better.

Been long we saw a Nollywood movie that gave us good vibes…. So long I almost gave up. If you’re looking for entertainment “THE WOMEN” is here for you, don’t fret you’ll have a good time on this one.

Remember to thank me later. *wink*

THE BAD

“THE WOMEN” is a bit unrealistic, no presence of children in the lives of families, although later on there is a mention but just with one family out of four families. Teni (Omoni Oboli) and Ene (Kate Henshaw) didn’t look as classy as one would have expected, if Omoni could afford a 10 million Naira party she should afford new and more good looking hair and outfits so should Kate Henshaw. Most importantly, we were so disappointed by the choice of “the resort” for this movie, it didn’t speak class, was bad looking, producers should have opted for a better and classier location, with proper resort facilities.

THE GOOD

Ufoma McDermott is, for me, one of the highly under-rated actors in Nollywood. Her pretense game is so on point and when i saw she featured in this piece, i had expectations, she not only met my expectations, she beat them. Katterine Obiang and Kate Henshaw showed talents and professionalism. Few but powerful actors. Blessing Egbe brought her all in the production of this so funny, suspense filled, entertaining, and educative, epic drama. ‘THE WOMEN’ relates with Nigerians, the desperation, lies, secrets, and fake life. Sound, cinematography and production in general is simply breathtaking.
