Comes out March 20
Summary highlights:
- Caroline uses the TV show Felicity to navigate college
Since I’m in college now, I’ve been wanting to read more books about college students. The thought of using a TV show as basically a guidebook to get through college is just so interesting to me. I’ve actually wanted to do something similar myself, but I’ve never had the guts and books, movies, and TV would most probably not be applicable to real life.

Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. ChoiComes out March 27
Summary highlights:
- Penny attends college in Austin, Texas
- The guy who works in a cafe and wants to be a famous movie director
- Staying in touch through text
It’s another book about a college student! The protagonist of Emergency Contact fits the description. I’m also totally down for a story that takes place in a cafe, but I’m interested to see where the story goes from there.
Not If I Save You First by Ally CarterComes out March 27
Summary highlights:
- Maddie’s Dad was a Secret Service agent
- She was best friends with the President’s son Logan
- Then, her dad dragged her to a cabin in Alaska with no phone or internet
- Logan shows up six years later
- So does an assailant
I’m a fan of Ally Carter’s action novels. Her Gallagher Girl and Heist Society series are some of my favorites, although I didn’t really get into the Embassy Row series. For some reason, I enjoy books that have a relation to the government, so Not If I Save You First is right up my alley.
Royals by Rachel HawkinsComes out May 1
Summary highlights:
- Daisy’s sister is engaged to a prince
- “Dashing young Miles” is appointed to show her around the castle
- Takes place in Scotland
- Scandals
I absolutely loved the Hex Hall series! It remains one of my favorite today. I also enjoyed her book Rebel Belle, but the rest of the series went on a decline in my opinion. Both series were action-packed with twists, so here’s to hoping Royals is the same. Of course, Royals is more contemporary while her two YA series are supernatural.

Summary highlights:
- Charlie’s sister’s wedding
- Disaster
- Wedding planner’s nephew
I’ve read two of Morgan Matson’s books: The Unexpected Everything and Since You’ve Been Gone. They’re definitely some of my favorite stand-alones. Both are cute and fun contemporaries, which I can never get enough of.
