Happy New Year!
I hope these first few days of 2018 treated you well and you guys had amazing and relaxing holidays. Christmas and New Year’s Eve have been very family-oriented for me, spending the latter in Paris. Fortunately (or should I say unfortunately?), January 1st was a state holiday over there, so the shops were closed and I couldn’t spend even more money on books.
I know this space has been kind of deserted thelast few months and I will try my best to do better this year. I actually didn’t plan on making any resolutions this time but I guess this counts as one. There are a lot of things I need to work on this year– mainly on myself– and, as usual, there’s still uni.
But my resolutions aren’t actually the reason for this blog post, which you might have already guessed from the title. This one is all about the amazing books that we will be graced with in the coming months and I can’t wait to read them all. Most of them come out in March, which is a blessing and a curse at the same time. 2018 also seems to the year of sequels and ends to some well loved series of mine. It was quite hard to number them down to only five, so I decided to just share six recommendations with you instead.
Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi Release Date: March 6th
I’m just so happy that Tahereh Mafi is publishing another trilogy in the Shatter Me series! I looked into the 31 page sampler and I simply can’t wait to devour all of this book. Someone posted it on Twitter, so you can check it out here.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
Release Date: March 6th
Ever since Netgalley approved my request for an excerpt, I’ve been waiting for the possibility to get my hands on an ARC or to be able to fast-forward time to finally get to read the whole book.
To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
Release Date: March 6th
I’m all in for mermaids and sirens and this release already sounds quite promising. I’m a bit wary since it’s probably going to have a romance subplot and I’m not sure if I’m going to like that one.
The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco
Release Date: March 20th
Another great sequel I’ve been waiting for ever since I finished The Bone Witch last year. Only two months until I can finally read all about strong female characters, necromancy and magic.
War Storm (Red Queen #4) by Victoria Aveyard Release Date: May 20th
I have no idea what to expect of the last book in the Red Queen series, mostly because it blindsided me a lot. I thought King’s Cage was the last book until I heard of War Storm. Netherless, I’m still looking forward to this book and to finally see how it all really wraps up in the end.
Throne of Glass #7 by Sarah J. Maas
Release Date: September 4th
It’s been way too long since Empire of Storms and I’m still kind of bitter that the Throne of Glass finale has been moved to the end of 2018. If I start now, I could probably fit in a reread and be finished by September.
