Long Review (SPOILER ALERT) – read on your peril, you have been warned.
in the beginning, it was a good read because candace talked about one mistake she did in the past, her life turned completely upside down; she entered college, got an average GPA, didn’t participate in college activities & schools, studied a course that is not highly marketed in job world & being reckless with money & credit cards. she emphasized being irresponsible about money & credit cards. hence, she’s heavily in debt. she couldn’t land a decent job & she had no other choice but to become a stripper. also, she needed money to care for her ill father. candace is in the tough place.

couldn’t land a decent job, especially that pays more because of the course you took & the average GPA – i totally can relate.
i started to warm with candace & the book. however, it was short term.
one rich handsome dude came to strip club looking for candace, asked her to pole dance. then, asked her to bj. then candace, she mentioned she was in a low point of life. she wouldn’t degraded herself to that. oh well, that opinion gone out of window because yeah, it’s a handsome rich guy. SHE WANTED TO BJ HIM. wtf, gurl. if he’s an average, fat, old rich guy, i bet she would gag bj him.
cheating in a toxic marriage of convenience is understandable. candace wanted love, nathan couldn’t provide because nathan said candace is just a tool. he abused her some more. so what do you expect from her? i would call her crazy to be faithful to a crazy bastard. i would say leave him but she couldn’t get out of the marriage because she needed money. the guy paid her father’s medical & care, she had no other choice.
to be honest with you guys, i was hoping candace ended up with drew instead of nathan. nathan is unworthy of her. i’ll list more why, keep on reading.
he HUMILIATED her. i can feel her embarrassment when nathan do her in front of his bodyguard, his workers. he said it turned him on. then, he asked her to bj his business partner. the reason? just to push any feelings he had for candace because he believed he could never love other but his hiding missing fiancee. that is why i cannot say the relationship is BDSM. i don’t even know how to label it. it’s just fucked up. it’s toxic.
the reasons nathan married candace are even bizarre. one, he wanted to lure his fiancee out. he knew his fiancee would not like it if there is other girl in nathan’s life. she’s that competitive, he said. i don’t get the logic. two, he wanted to siphon his money out from her deceased sister who is also named candace. when i read the way he described his sister, incest alert blinking in my brain. negative thought, i know but i can’t help it because it felt like it.
i could never forgive candace when she said something like now she understood why a person stuck to a cheating partner because one can’t help loving that partner even though one knows that partner loves other. DO NOT TRYING TO ROMANTICISE CHEATING TO ME. Not fucking gonna happen.
Cheating is a cheating. Full stop.
Actually, Nathan is cheating too. Why? Nathan & Candace still in marriage. Upon Nathan’s fiancee returned, he fucked her.

I swear to book deity I would never want to read this kind of story ever, ever, ever again. I should have ignore the hype about this book. I should ignore my curiosity. What a waste of my time.
