Try Before You Buy: Wreck You Edition

Have you had a chance to check out my m/m romance novella, Wreck You? I’m kind of proud of this one, and the title is quite apt. This piece will take you from attraction and lust, to depression, despair, addiction, and finally a love “that will shatter everything you believe in” (words lifted from one of my favorite reviews… my other favorite review is to the right).

It’s not an easy read. I admit it. It wasn’t an easy write.

But I love both of these characters so much, and I hope you do too.

Mechanic for Hard and Fast, Mike Davis has an intense crush on the parts delivery driver, Blake. For the sake of the business, he keeps his distance, not acting on his wanton desires. What Mike doesn’t realize is Blake is crushing equally as hard on him.

Just as love and life appear to take shape for Mike, his old demons take hold and drag him under, leaving him spiraling out of control.

Will Blake push Mike further into the abyss or will he be the one to finally pull him free?

Excerpt

A beautiful thing, just like the man who’d taken a step into the shop, closer to me, with a shy smile etched onto his lips. That smile was sexy as hell, and he didn’t even realize it. Everything about him was sexy. Sure, he wasn’t my normal type—too scrawny, too breakable—and the work clothes, a red shirt with his name embroidered on it over black pants, were less than attractive. Still, despite it all, something about him called to me, stirred up every emotion I normally allowed to lie dormant. I wasn’t an emotional kind of guy, except when it came to Blake.

His shaggy, sandy-blond hair covered his eyes, and a deep tan highlighted his sharp cheekbones. He had a baby face; hell, compared to me he was a baby. Still, that silky-smooth face called out to be kissed without mercy.

I wanted to be the one to do just that.

He pushed the hair out of his eyes. The chocolate-brown pools that hid underneath were visible for a brief moment before gravity won the battle, and his hair fell right back to where it had started.

His constant battle with his hair was one of those things I had always adored about him. Every time he ran his hands through his hair, I couldn’t help the twinge of jealousy I felt. I wanted to be the one to unearth those eyes that matched the shade of my morning coffee.
