A feature which is only called weekly in which I tell you about new books I discovered.
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done one of these, so I am finally back with a TBR update and I have some really fun books to share with you today!
1. Wimmera by Mark Brandi

Why I added it: I am pretty sure I saw this on someone’s blog but I can’t remember whose… Anyways, this is a Mystery novel and the premise is one of those catching mystery ones: two childhood best friends and 20 years later a body turns up. It’s pretty standard, but it sparked my interest AND it’s set in a small town so it’s bound to be great.
2. The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall

Why I added it: Now this one is completely awesome. The story follows Eric who loses his memory and wakes up not knowing anything and then has to follow a series of “clues” to find out what happened to him or just who he is. I love stories like that and this sounds super cool.
3. Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate

Why I added it: Because this sounds right up my street. It’s a YA novel following seven high school students whose secrets represent the seven deadly sins and I guess those secrets start to surface. Sounds super good and it’s been getting a lot of positive reviews.
4. The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories by Ken Liu

Why I added it: You know that I am on the hunt for a short story collection that I will finally love. And basically someone said that there’s a story in here that I would absolutely love. Besides, like every single story in this one got some kind of an award, so I am hoping that THIS will be the short story collection that makes me fall in love with the short story as a concept.
5. Tin Man by Sarah Winman
Book Depository
Why I added it: The only thing I know about this is that it’s devastating and that it’s about a relationship between two guys. I found it on Jen Campbell’s channel and just the way she spoke about it made me want to instantly read it.
