review 1: Ohhh my...what a wonderful surprise!!! My first read of this author...and I believe it was the best m/m I have read this year!!! Cameron & Eldon...well, lets just say...they are not who they seem to be...as a matter of fact...no one in this book was just who they seemed to be!!! This story was so full of emotion...drama...love...evil...magic...oh and of course...there was plenty of hot sex and a HEA...two of my most important requirements for an excellent read...and this book was an excellent read...I am going to have to go see what else I can find by this author...as I said this book took me completely by surprise...and it didn't let me go til the very end!!!
review 2: This book was hard for me to rate. I really liked the premise. Eldon is from Victorian Londo... moren and is tragically killed. His soul mate, Cameron, is in present time. Cameron purchases the home Eldon is haunting. The story involves Eldon coming through time to be with Cameron which involves Psychics, Paranormal investigators and witchcraft......I know! It sounds great!But it fell short for me in the interactions between the characters. Their conversations were flat. The pshychic, Trudy, constsntly uses the words sweetheart or darling. Cameron goes from shock and anger over having a ghost/reanimated person in his home to sickly sweet in love that it almost gave me whiplash! There was no time to feel the connection between them. Terms of endearment were annoying....My love, loveliness, baby, darling, sweetheart, lovely......The conversations/interactions became so irritating I ended up wanting the book to end already!However, the actual meat of the story was a great idea. And the author did a great job of tying the story together. less
