It has felt this way since maybe the day
That I was born
Always having to find my own way
Feeling lost and forlorn
Standing on the hilltop feeling soul shaken
Misery my best company as my heart is breaking
It’s a long, long way to home
And I’ll make my way alone
Sometimes it truly seems
That I’d be better off
If I gave up on my dreams
But, instead I keep on putting off
Ever giving up on things yet to be seen
I’m content enough as this flawed human being
