review 1: This book had 'some' potential. If only it was so...repetitive.I mean, the characters kept saying the same thing over and over again. I mean, the characters kept saying the same thing over and over again.Over and over again.Over and over.Over.Okay, okay, I get it, I get it. NO! Apparently you don't because their deaths was a super BIG DEAL. There was three pages towards the end where Lewis said the same thing three times. So, instead of showing the reader how Lewis felt through maybe body language or something, the author just had him basically shake Cam and scream it in her face. (And she still didn't get it, but I don't blame her, his justification for being a mindless drone at the end was pretty pathetic). The story had a bit of potential, but I have no interest in readi... moreng the next book in the series.
review 2: It is really hard to like this book. Granted it's YA, but at the same time there's no excuse for having such shallow characters who learn almost nothing, don't think clearly or logically, and pantomime their way through the story. Luckily it goes really fast, and the author does a decent job of portraying teenagers for the shallow brats they can often be, but there's not enough to convince me to bother with the other books in this series. less
