review 1: The first book of the serie wasn't my favourite.... I actually hesitated before picking this one up but I don't regret it. It was a little bit hard to get back into the story/settings but once I did I couldn't put the book down. The ending just left me speechless with tears down my face and an existential crisis.... Thank you very much rebecca maizel. I'd give it 4, 5 stars just for the ending :) sorry couldn't resist finishing with a smiley face
review 2: Stolen Night was interesting... I felt that the beginning was too rushed, that Rebecca Maizel just rushed into the whole issue with Odette, etc, etc too quickly instead of making a steady transition. Anyway, I still enjoyed it. I know many people were annoyed at Lenah's selfishness and recklessness but I coul... mored tolerate it for a while. Lenah was a vampire for many many years and was used to getting whatever she wanted with no regard for the needs of others. Becoming a human again doesn't automatically mean that that attitude would automatically change. At least, not for some time. And that's why I started to lose my patience with Lenah when in the middle of the book, she was still making stupid and selfish decisions. Why hadn't she learnt just a little from her mistakes by then? As for the ending, I like that the whole going back thing didn't automatically mean happily ever after for everyone involved. What was with Rhode's fancy letter, though? Did Rebecca Maizel forget that he's supposed to be a normal boy with no recollection of the past? Why then is he not writing in modern English, the way a normal person living in the 21st century would? In conclusion, I will definitely read book 3 when it comes out and desperately pray that Lenah will be a more sensible protagonist by then. less
