review 1: I hadn't read any other books in this series or by this author, so I had unrealistic expectations. As Moe deals with a cancer diagnosis while investigating a murder, he becomes quite philosophical about life. I was hoping that he would have an epiphany of some kind, but he remained an atheist to the end of the book, when he was beginning his cancer treatment. The mystery was convoluted, much like Moe's life and relationship with his ex-wife/ex-business partner who hired him for this job.
