review 1: I'm a new reader of the Molly Murphy series, having started with the latest book, The Family Way, so I appreciated the similar setting, as Molly adjusts to married life but still can't stop the urge to investigate when she's asked. This short story, about a woman who invites Molly into her home to figure out why her drinks and food taste bitter, why she's seeing faces in the mirror, and why she feels like she's going crazy, kept me guessing. Bowen works in a bit of tension between Molly and her husband Daniel, but mostly the story finds Molly putting what she's learned to the test and, of course, solving the mystery with aplomb. A short, fun mystery that kept me guessing.

Molly quickly does some deducing and figures out the problem and does not even get a dressing down from her new husband Daniel Sullivan, New York City Police detective.Although it took me 3 sittings to read, if I'd chosen better times I could easily have read in one sitting. less
