review 1: This is going to sound cynical and bitter, but I felt that it was pretty weak that all of the leaders survived such an attack on the village. It just made my emotional response anti-climactic. Seeing her move on and come to terms with an event like that I think would have not only been more believable, but actually realistic. Whatever. Then there's the whole relationship/marriage deal. That isn't even worth getting into. I still liked the story and will probably read it again, but I do not see my opinion of it improving.
review 2: Wow. It's over. I feel like I have moved away from friends that I will miss. I am so glad Hanzo was alive although I suspected it. it was cool to see Mamezo grow up even in the short story about Mamezo. I will read other series ... moreby the author. I liked the plot plus the romance but also learning a bit about Japanese history and about ninjas and samuri. I hope others will enjoy this series as much as I did. less
