review 1: This is the second book in Ms. Scott’s Heroes series. While this is the second book in the series and characters from the first book are mentioned it is not necessary to read them in order. This book will grab your attention right from the beginning and throws you into the adventure that doesn’t quit until the end.I am hoping that there is another book in this series because I have fallen in love with these characters and I would really like to see these hardened military men adapt to settling down. Mac has desperately wanted to have someone he can love and will love him in return but did not see how anyone could love him after all he has done in the military. Sam has always felt a little lost after his ordeal when he was 14 and is unsure how to give himself to a r... moreelationship. These two men grab your heartstrings at the beginning and never let go. I am so glad they were able to find one another and I hope we can see their relationship develop through subsequent books.
review 2: Sam was introduced in the first novel in this series. It was great to learn his back story and find out what happens to him. This book was intense in terms of the things that happened and the emotions of the main characters. Sam is such a strong man. You have empathy for him and want him to succeed. Mac is a real hero who totally believes in his country. Both have issues from their past but work through them. It was great to catch up with Viktor and Aiden. I hope there will be another book in the series with a re-visit of Sam & Mac. less
