review 1: Jason McInnery is an actor who comes to Ellery Mountain for some peace and quiet. He's hiding out from everything Hollywood and trying to reconcile his life and deal with some major issues. He meets Kieran Dexter who is the carpenter who fixes things around the cabins where Jason is staying. Jason is attracted to Kieran and enjoys spending time with the Friday Night Gang. None of them seem to want anything from him. This was a good story about a man figuring out what he wants and needs. I enjoyed it very much.
review 2: THE CARPENTER AND THE ACTOR is a light, fun read with plenty of eroticism and a good cast of secondary characters.Kieran's friends are all happy in relationships and he's still alone. He can't help being attracted to Jason, a famous actor ... morehiding out in one the tourist cabins where Kieran works. Jason proposes two weeks of no-strings sex and Kieran takes him up on the offer but what happens when the two weeks are up?Kieran and Jason have a decent romance with lots of sexual interludes made extra spicy by Kieran's slight kink. Fans of erotic MM romance like me will really like that part of this romance. I will admit to wanting a bit more emotional honest between the men. Jason especially was damaged by his past and it seemed that he and Kieran dealt with the symptoms but not the underlying issues. Still, this is a light romance that was enjoyable.The best thing about this novella is the cast of characters comprised of the small Tennessee town and leads from the previous novellas. Kieran's friends and their partners truly care about each other and support each other and I love when romances have a backdrop of a community like this. I know that if readers haven't read the previous novellas in the series they'll want to go back and read them for full enjoyment.THE CARPENTER AND THE ACTOR was a good MM romance that while a little emotionally light, was still enjoyable.*originally reviewed for The Romance Reviews**review copy from publisher* less
