review 1: so, I'm halfway through this book and I have to say I like it less than the others in the series. I've read several of the reviews here and I can't find anyone who mentioned this, so I guess I'm unique. My problem with this book primarily is Bobbie, the niece. She should have been made 6, not 12. I've never seen a 12 year old act the way this child does. I keep telling myself "just pretend she's six" but it's not quite working :/
review 2: This review is not so much a review of the book, but a description of the choice that I made to give this book only 2 stars. I gave the other books in this series 3 stars. This one I downgraded to 2. I'm thinking I must have been in an awesome mood to have rated the others as 3 stars. There was nothing bad about this b... moreook, but there was nothing great either. It has the same flaws as most shorts that I read. Just as I am getting to love the characters, the book ends. Leaving me wanting more. Most series are able to overcome this to a degree by incorporating the previous book's characters into the new books. I'm not saying this didn't do what I wanted, but I'm thinking I may have been in the mood for something more. I have recently read some books that I thought were great, and rated 4/5 stars. Sadly, I think this one suffered because of that as well. less
