review 1: I enjoy this series, but I didn't enjoy this book. For me it just fell flat. There were only a few things that I actually liked.Robin and monogamy. Yea that was funny. Loved every minute of it.Cal and his embracing of his half Auphe nature.Really that's about it. I hated that they were once again on a road trip. It was boring. There wasn't enough action in this book. The big baddie, well I didn't like him. Thought it was silly really. And I didn't like the Rom bunch in the last road trip book and I don't like them this time. I didn't like Delilah. She does the exact opposite this time around that she did the last. While I liked Cal and Niko's perspective in the last book, them jumping back and forth between Cal and Catcher's perspective was just plain stupid. I ... morecare nothing about Catcher or Rafferty. And I cared about them even less after Rafferty screwed with Cal's brain. (shrugs)Did I hate the book? No, but it wouldn't want to re-read it.
review 2: Um, with this book I'm seriously considering why I even bother reading this series. I was utterly unimpressed in any aspect. Okay, fine, I laughed out loud once, so I guess that's something, but still not nearly enough for me to have felt like the books was worth my time. I find myself tiring of Niko and Cal's dynamic, and of their exaggerated personalities. It feels like I'm reading a book about caricatures, not characters. Even the author's attempts to give them any amount of depth fell flat with me. Robin, as in the last book, was still slightly amusing but on his way to being boring. I can't even say that the emphasis on werewolves is why I didn't like this; the werewolves weren't one of my biggest issues.Altogether, it was readable but absolutely nothing I would conceivably recommend to anyone but to Sam Winchester fangirls, who might like that it's almost Supernatural Lite. less
