review 1: A nuanced, highly personal reflection on what professionalism really means in the context of software development. As someone who inhabits both this world and the world of librarianship, it's a little striking to me how similar some of the meta-issues are in two "professional" but also largely unregulated fields of work that often seem to lack common agreement even among experienced practitioners about what being a "real" professional means.
