The Riddle in Stone
review 1: Betrayal in the Highlands is the second book in the Riddle in Stone series. In this installment, the main character, Edmund, the most unlikely hero you've ever met, is being chased by evil goblins and Magic Users, because they want the secret that Edmund knows. Tired of running, Edmund and his constant companions Pond Scum (an ever optimistic human), Becky (a destructive and personable puppy) and Abby (A beautiful woman who is a new friend) decide to start fighting the goblin hunters while also trying to rescue his hometown. The book contains outstanding original characters and a tale that's easy to get drawn into. Then there's the ending. I won't spoil it, but I can tell you this, it will make you want the next book to be able to find out what happens. Which comes... more out in about 15 days. Can't wait. Wish there was an early release. It is a joy to find a story that flows smoothly and holds you to it. Those books and writers are rare and should be incorage to continue writing. Robert I really hope you continue to write, I love these characters and the story, keep up the great writing. Readers, If you don't read this series. it is your lose. This is a must read for fantasy lovers and action/adventure alike. READ READ READ!
review 2: Once again, Robert Evert has written a book that was a joy to read. The second installment in the Riddle of Stone series continues the thrilling and occasionally humorous adventures of our unlikely hero, Edmund, and his companions. This is a well written story with an interesting mix of characters and an increasingly complex plot - just the kind of book that keeps me reading until late at night and leaves me wanting more. Bring on book 3! less

Loved it. Edmund is an unlikely but brilliant hero. Eagerly waiting for the next instalment.

A good book if perhaps feeling a bit incomplete because its the middle of the trilogy.
