review 1: Loved it. I'm amazed at the difference between this series, and the Rainwilds series. Fitz is a character that you feel empathy for, that you sit there and wonder how he is going to solve his problems, and that you can't wait to get back to when you're interrupted. The Rain Wild series doesn't seem to have the same depth of character, although, I've read enough now to know they're related, so perhaps reading this series will give some insight into that one. I'm very happy that I received an ARC of Fool's Assasin, which is what sparked me to go back and read this series.

... moregh. I didn't really like Molly much when I was younger (not that I think Fitz is blameless- far from) and I honestly still don't care for her. I get where she's coming from and she's completely within her rights to be pissed with Fitz, but I just can't summon much interest or sentimental feeling for her character. She still comes off really self-righteous to me, though Fitz is kind of a dumbass so who knows.Looking forward to reading Fitz off the grid again. less

Well written, clean, YA fantasy. It's a little too long but still interesting.

Loved it. Painful, gutsy, and always as mind twisting as Hobb likes to write.
