review 1: Katie comes to Virgin River (bear country)as a single mom of 5 year old twins. Her brother is going to watch out for her and be father figure to her boys. She ends up meeting a former child actor who she had loved for 3 teen years. She doesn't let on that she knows who Dylan really is, and he finds this intriguing. Katie is a very strong female and role model to her rambunctious boys. She also has a great sense of humor and is for the most part patient with Dylans "never get serious" warnings. A great, light read.
review 2: The pacing of this Virgin River novel was really odd. It seemed like we received half of what Katie said - her dialogue was often disjointed and, frankly, baffling. It almost felt like this novel was meant to be much longer, but Carr
... more's publisher cut every couple of lines to make the story fit with the length of other novels in the series. The characters felt flat and I did not engage with any of them the way I've felt connected to other characters in this series. I'm hoping this is just a weak novel, and not a foretaste of the rest of the series. less
