review 1: This was just as faboosh as the first book in the "series" which is currently just these two. I truly do hope the author will extend this series which given the "The End (for now)" on the last page certainly give me hope for the future. This installment picks up immediately after the end of the last book which without giving any significant spoilers, finds Astrid in Hell where she discovers that thanks to her Father's heritage, she is the niece of Satan and that Hell is apparently a rather fabulous place to at least visit, lush and opulent beyond one's dreams. She is tasked by her uncle to find a powerful artifact that has "gone missing" and which could be used to kill him. This entire novel takes place in hell so we are missing Pam, the Kev, Gemma and the other wacky char... moreacters from the first book but we have a whole new set to replace them including, Mister Rogers, Dante Alighieri, Ernest Hemingway, and a pair of Hell Hounds named General George and Bambi to make up for their lack.
review 2: I just loved the first book, but this one is even better. Those little monster are so damn cute and I don't think I'll ever get enough of them. We find out more about Astrid's true purpose and I'm so excited to find out what happens to her next. Peterman's writing is so fun, exciting, and oh so sexy! I am loving this world Peterman has created. Thankfully the third book is already out and I can grab it NOW and find out what happens to her and her new family!! less
