review 1: From the name of the island to the personalities of the characters, this authors wit was apparent. Essie is this spitfire WTF agent (and no it is not what you all are thinking). Her best friend Dwayne is this her very flamboyant, gay best friend. Then we have sex on a stick Hank. This is the first book I have read by Robyn Peterman and holy smokes, I can guarantee you it won't be my last. I laughed out loud at the characters. I loved the interactions between Essie and Granny. This is a feel good, romantic comedy with a preternatural spin! Oh, I cannot leave out the hot sex scenes that are easily pulled off amongst the comedy. At one point, I got chills during a scene between Essie and Hank. I love when a book can bring out those kind of emotions. Rock on Robyn! 5 f... moreangs.
review 2: If you need a good laugh, Ready to Were: Shift Happens is just the ticket! Even the title made me giggle. Essie, the werewolf secret agent, and her sidekick/best friend Dwayne, the 300 year old flamboyantly gay vampire, travel to Hung Island (her hometown) and hijinks ensue! Hank, the well-hung (pun intended) werewolf sheriff/Alpha is determined to get back in Essie's pants. Granny BS and the Tinas are just some of the colorful characters you'll meet in this hilarious and brilliant story. I can't wait for book 2! less
