review 1: This is pretty pathetic. One of those private security firms made up of superhero types with a family twist. Idea not bad but execution is mediocre at best. Only redeeming feature--Pennington has done clever things with the character names.I picked this up to do some light reading in between books in the Abruzzo trilogy by Silone, which is anything but easy reading. But this is less than featherweight. Avoid unless the only other reading material is the cereal box of a brand you've been eating for years.
review 2: Circumstances might have forced Michael Charon out of the CIA, but they’ll never get him out of the “business”. He sets up his own ultra-high-tech security firm, and creates a reputation for getting results for his uber-powerful clients.W
... morehen he discovers his former girlfriend has hidden two children from him, the four reunited family members team up to solve a mystery together. Mayhem ensues as the old flames are rekindled between the two ex-lovers, and the four proceed to wipe out the bad guys while never missing a punch or a punch line.Rod Pennington crafts a fine story. His dialog is spot on and the characters are well-developed and likable. It’s witty, humorous, fast-paced, and very entertaining, with just enough sexy bawdiness to make it a fun read that will not disappoint! less
