review 1: THIS WAS THE 3RD BOOK I'VE READ IN THIS SERIES ALL OF THEM WERE VERY ENJOYABLE. I LOVE LALLA & CALEB ALONG WITH HER ZANY GANG OF MISFITS (family & friends), THEY MAY ALL BE KINDA OFF BUT I MEAN THAT IN A GOOD WAY. ;D I LOVE TAGGING ALONG ON HER CRAZY ADVENTURES TRYIN' TO FIGURE OUT WHO-DONE-IT. I LOVE THE HUMOR AND THE CRAZY TOWN THEY LIVE IN, WHAT A BUNCH OF LOVABLE KOOKS. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE (if there will be any) I SAY I'M SICK OF SERIES BUT I DON'T MIND STAND ALONE KIND. WHEN STORY LINES AND CHARACTERS ARE WRITTEN WELL YOU WANT MORE OF THEM YOU DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE ME HANGING OFF THE EDGE OF A CLIFF FOR ME TO KEEP WANTING TO READ YOUR BOOKS. NOT ALL AUTHORS SEEM TO GET THAT.;D
review 2: Fascinated by the goat on the cover, I couldn't stop myself... more from ordering this recent RP Dahlke release. This type of mystery is not my usual reading fare and that's probably why I'd call it a 4.5 star read instead of giving it all five. Lalla Bains is a fascinating, full character. We know much about her life, her history, her career as an aero-ag pilot (she flies a crop duster in California's Central Valley), her main man, and--oh yes!--the people who seem to keep getting themselves in trouble around her. Some of them even get themselves murdered and Lalla can't stop herself from getting involved. (Lalla and I may have more in common than I realized.) In this whodunnit, almost everyone looks like a potential murderer. Although the clues are plentiful, I still didn't quite see what was coming. RP Dahlke has done a great job of keeping the mystery in her mystery. I enjoyed this book very much and may read more Lalla Bains mysteries. less
