review 1: Finally!Kudo's to Ruth Cardello for finally giving us Lil and Jake's story. I have been waiting for this one since book 1. Lil is Abby's little sister who has been mothered by Abby after the death of their parents. Lil was always the trouble maker while Abby played it safe. Lil got pregnant and the father of her unborn baby ran out on her. Lil had a baby girl Colby and she decided she would do anything she could to give Colby a steady and secure life, even if it means giving up on her own dreams of being an artist.Jake is Dominic's partner and honorary brother and he is sent to look after Lil and Colby while Dominic whisks Abby away to start a new life. One look at Lil and Jake fell hard, one touch and sparks flew; but Jake doesn't believe in love, romance or happily... more ever afters. Is he, can he and will he be the man that Lil needs him to be and gives her what she wants and needs?
review 2: Ok this is gonna be short and sweet. Lil meets Jake when Dominic, Abbys new boyfriend, (Abby is lils sister) sends him to watch over her while they are in China. Confused yet? Gotta read the previous 2 books to get the full experience. So Jake is a billionaire and his best friend since college Dominic meets this woman named Abby. Abby has a sister named Lil who Jake finds extremly attractive but her downfall is she has a kid, believes in love and is so not his type. Lil just believes Dominic is a fairy tale and wonders if she will ever stop messing everything up long enough to find her happy ending.Now that was thier backstoryish type thingy. Jake doesn't believe in love but he finds he is doing unuasal things and not being his normal calm rational self. He fights his "love" for her almost the entire time. Lil is attracted to Jake but doesn't see how this relationship could work for her without love. Both of them battle their emotions, sexual urges, and more throught this book. I only rated it a 3 because I kept putting it down. I got tired of the cat and mouse game but I kept coming back to finish the book. They don't seem to work as a couple but that mythical thing call love starts building its bond. Oh Abby and Dominic get married at the end, that was sweet. We get to meet some of Lil's friends. Intresting. Chinese server problem comes up. We even get to see Zhang again in this book. So overall okay book. I liked the others better but thats just me. I still would recommend if you've read the other books or just like a romance with rice men. less
