review 1: Adventure Time by retaredpoliceman If you like books that have fighting monsters and adventure you should get this book. There is a tv show called Adventure Time. If you know this show get the book because its just like the show. This story takes place at a mystery world nobody knows what the name is. The world has a lot of mysteries. It takes place at ice king Castle, some of it is at a treehouse. Finn and Jake do not want to share the cupcake. Then they have to do a race. The two main characters in this story are Finn and Jake. Finn and Jake want a cupcake, but they don’t want to share. The race takes forever. Finn and Jake went two different dimensions. Robot Princess Bubblegum makes a time machine to go to a different dimension. Finn and Jake go to a differ... moreent dimension. Princess Bubblegum has to destroy the robots because the robots surrounded her castle. Jake has magical powers, he is able to turn into stuff and make things bigger. I like when stuff went to their backyard. They use real characters from the tv show. Finn, Jake, Ice King, and Princess Bubblegum are all from the show. There are lots of adventures. They fights monsters and go to castles. One weakness is when Time eats the cupcake. They kick and hit people but are fighting bad guys. I don’t like when they fight the other people. Another weakness is when Princess Bubblegum makes candy armies that are scary. They try to catch you. I would recommend this book for people who like adventures because the books is filled with them. They go forward in time. There is also a bunch of robots. They are trying to go to Princess Bubblegum’s Castle. I would rate this book 5 stars.I like this book because its full of adventures. I like adventures. The main characters fight monsters and protect the candy kingdom. This book book has the same characters as the show. It is an awesome book for adventure people and a good book for kids.
review 2: I bought these comics on a whim, because 1) I love "Adventure Time" and 2) I saw that Ryan North wrote them, and Ryan North has rather quickly climbed onto my list of favorite humans. This first volume was incredibly clever -- it read just like an episode of the show and I appreciated all of the little mentions of "canon" things, like Fionna and Cake and the relationship between Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen (!!!!!!!!). The panel layout made it a quick, easy, enjoyable read, and North's dialogue worked well. Nothing felt out of character or out of place. I hated closing the back cover, but then remembered that I have two more volumes to read, so I'm a happy camper. less
