Shipwreck Island
review 1: Sarah Robinson wants nothing to do with her new stepmother and two stepbrothers. When her father decides that they should all take a cruise to get to know one another better, she is totally uninterested. Naturally, after several misadventures en route to their destination, a storm causes the family to be shipwrecked on an island whose inhabitants resemble no animals any of them have seen. While they bicker among themselves, it's clear that there is something very, very wrong on this paradise on which they have landed. Sarah is beyond annoying in her constant complaining and attempts at sabotaging her father's new relationship, but I did like Nacho with all of his eccentricities. I'll be interested in seeing what comes next in the story since the author leaves them in quite... more a mess.
review 2: Crappy writing that spends the vast majority of the book on lame build up of an unbelievable situation (no parent is so bad as to not introduce their kid to the other kids before the marriage of a blended family - and the kids are upset? Who is surprised/ interested?), ending just as the creepy survival island content actually starts. Feels like a rip off when a series starter doesn't give you much and then tries to pull a cliff hanger. The saving grace is that it was a quick and easy read. less

I'm just going to give this a good rating and assume my book is missing the second half...
