review 1: Interesting book. Told by the character Molly who dies in a bicycle accident, then watches as her friends and family try to figure out what actually happened to her. As the story proceeds the reader tends to lean towards people who might have done Molly in, but then reading on you find out that no, it's probably another person, but maybe that first person. Good ending, but still confused! Makes for a great discussion on life after death. A good "who dunnit" book!
review 2: What a fun read. I mean, in view of the fact that the narrator happens to be recently deceased. Under suspicious circumstances. Molly Divine Marx went for a bike ride in the rain and wound up lying near the Hudson River. Broken beyond repair. Molly, not the bike. She finds her funeral i... morenteresting even if she doesn't recognize many of the faces. (Some of those faces had no doubt been her husband Barry the plastic surgeon's work). Soon Molly meets Bob, also deceased. She almost understands his explanation, while here in The Duration, she has special powers. For instance Molly can hear her little daughter's thoughts, she can watch her every move. She just can't be there for her. It is so much easier to follow the detective on her case and listen in to him asking her what happened - accident, suicide, murder? He had a lot of people suspicious of other people and maybe some motives, but still...Want to look at a probably-murder mystery from the victim's point of view and told in a lighter humorous voice? less
