review 1: 3.5 Stars because I liked it, it was an easy read and well written. There were many romance scenarios that were clichéd but once in awhile I will let that pass. The strong silent do goody hero was a bit much, but that is why we read books, to escape our little mundane lives. I did love, love that our hero read books. So when he was not out "saving" and pay-backing the world, he could actually sit back and relax and read. You don't see that much in an action book. I think on some level, as a woman, I need someone I can imagine myself doing nothing with. That's why when George Clooney got married, I was glad it was not to me. His life just seems so. darn. hectic. Just sayin.........
review 2: I loved it!!!! I think Sandra Brown is a genius, she writes so well
... more that I just get lost in her books. She has a gift of combining romance with suspense and creating a fabulous read. This particular book had me feeling such a range of emotions!! I really liked the main character, Dr. Emory Charbonneau. She was just an all around great character, she was a pediatrician so she was great with kids, she is also very philanthropic. She does great things for charity, not just with money but with her time. The only flaw in this character is that she is a runner and I can't even run the vaccuum. She is held captive by a man who tells her nothing not even his name. I can't write more without giving away all the wonderful surprises that await you when you decide to give this one a go. You won't be disappointed. less
