review 1: Another "Feel Good" gem from Sarah Jio. The one thing that bothered me about Jio's writing was that every character "grinned" or said something "with a grin". After a while, each time I heard the word grin with it's many variations, (I listened on my phone while walking the dog), I "cringed." But then again, this is not literary fiction and Jio's novels are sweet and uplifting and a nice change from all the depressive high-level literary fiction out there. So after my little vent, thank you for all the "grinning" characters.
review 2: I do enjoy Jio's novels as lighthearted stories - they are fast and enjoyable. I felt this one was a bit more contrived than her others and even predictable. The story itself is fine - just didn't grab me like hers often do. Th... moreis is the story of Jane Williams, a 29 year old, single gal with the rare ability to see true love. She has this gift and must do two things before it leaves her forever with no love in her life - she must find the six types of love and identify them AND pass along the gift before she turns 30. Again, a fun concept, just seemed too predictable to me. less
