review 1: In the book someday dancer the girl Casey Quinn is a girl with big dreams. She lives in a small town but hopes to be a ballerina. Her parents can’t afford for the ballet classes. But will do anything she can do to get to where she wants to go no matter what. I didn’t like when her mom doesn’t necessarily help her follow her dreams. And because of this Casey is scared to tell her things about her dancing. Also when the group of girls keep bullying her. Bullying is wrong to do, is hurts people a lot. I enjoyed how Casey is very independent; she does things without people helping her. And I love how she’s smart. She knows smart. She knows the right things to do so she can get what she wants. ‘’that’s why my great-great granddaddy came to America; he sailed all... more the way across the Atlantic ocean from Ireland. he had a dream, just like me so he came to the country where dreams come true’’. This is an important quote to me from the book because it shows it’s not wrong to follow your dreams. People go through big obstacles to get what they want in life.
review 2: I loved Casey's determination and Rubin did a great job of the mom and grandmother characters. Overall I felt the book read very young. This wais in the Young Adult section so I thought I was getting a slightly different book than if I'd picked it up in the Young Readers section. Also--and this is probably more of an issue with the publisher than the writer--I dislike books that tell you on the jacket something that happens halfway through the book. This being that Casey is accepted into Martha Grahman's school. I'm reading 50, 70 pages in but I know it's going to happen so there's no suspense. (It doesn't say this here on Goodreads, which is why I've hidden with spoilers.) That really took away from my enjoyment. less

Cliche. I gave up before Casey met Martha Graham, so maybe I missed out on the better half.
