review 1: I enjoyed the reboot of Swamp Thing and the place it will take on the overall Green-Red-Rot mythology that DC has created in conjunction with Animal Man, a character I didn't give a second thought at all, and in fact seemed redundant to me in a universe that also has Vixen, Beast Boy, and B'wana Beast, but DC makes it work amazingly well. The antagonist is well written and the book keeps escalating to things to come. My only complain, and the reason I give this volume only 3 stars, is that it takes the whole volume for Alex Holland to accept the Swamp Thing mantle so we have to wait until volume 2 to actually see him in action.

... moreyder is pretty awesome. However, I was slightly disappointed. I think if I was familiar with Swamp Thing I would've cared more about this story and probably would want to continue reading because there were a lot of awesome and weird elements that I enjoyed. Yet there was nothing really that grabbed my attention and nothing gave me a reason to care about Alec or this mysterious girl. So I probably won't continue with Swamp Thing, unless I get a good reason to. less

I found this to be creepier than I remember the Swamp Thing being. Not sure how I feel about it.

Very weird, very trippy. Reminds me of being a kid in the '70's.
