review 1: I really like this addition to the Gothamverse as I choose to call it. The Court of Owls, Gotham's own Illuminati, have a league of assassins on ice, ready to do their bidding, until one decides to shun his role and runs. They won't stand for that and mayhem ensues.This is a great addition to the Batman mythology and he barely features, which is refreshing. The 2 things I didn't see that is would have looooved were Felix (think Bane as an undead, ultra-fast healing owl assassin) and Batman brawling and then Bane vs Felix! Can't wait to keep reading!
review 2: One of the best trade paperbacks of the New 52 is a rousing pulp adventure more in line with The Shadow than Batman. You'll thrill to the exploits of Calvin Rose as he battles against the evil syndicate kn... moreown as the Court of Owls. The art by Gulllem March is striking and head and shoulders above most of the current fare from Marvel and DC. The book ends on a cliffhanger, as any good pulp should, but Volume 2 is months away from release so you may want to collect some issues at your local comic shop to avoid the wait! less
