Re-read TBR Tuesday 36; Legend & an Iron King

Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

The books I’ll be talking about are both Young Adult novels. However, one book is a Science Fiction novel, and the second is a Fantasy novel. Today’s post is a re-read TBR. I want to re-read these two books; but I don’t know when I’ll be able to.

The first book, as you may already be able to tell is Legend by Marie Lu.

It’s been three years since I’ve read Legend. This first time I read Legend, I didn’t particularly like it. This may be due to the font colour of Legend. I have some troubles reading coloured font; especially if the font is considered small.. I appreciate the uniqueness of the font colour. However, it was extremely hard for me to read the actual font. I think the text was a deep red colour.

What I liked about Legend was the action and the sense of adventure throughout the book. Like I’ve said before though, I haven’t read Legend in 3 years, so I can’t really remember much of what happened.

The second book I’ll be talking about today is The Iron King by Julie Kagawa.

The Iron King is the first book in The Iron Fey series. I haven’t gotten pretty far into the series; but I stopped reading the series since I didn’t have the rest of the books. I love just being able to binge-read a series; I really want to bing-read The Iron Fey.

I loved reading The Iron King the first time I read it, so I’m really looking forward to re-reading Meghan’s story. If my memory recalls correctly, there’s a lot of action in this first novel. I’m also remembering the almost love-triangle and let me just say that the love-triangle was so. freaking. annoying. However! When the love-triangle ends, I thought that the love that continued on was quite cute.

Have you read either of these books? If you have, what did you think of them? If you haven’t read these books, do you think you will?

Happy Reading!
Adele
