review 1: Picked it up for 20p at the school Christmas fair and started reading it to give the old brain some relief from the essential random conversations one must endure on these occasions. It is one lyrical long song right up to the end. Barry creates a tapestry of Roseanne's sad life amidst Ireland's turbulent history and wild landscape. It is an experience that will stay with me for a long time, and a great introduction to an author I have been planning to read since 2005.
