review 1: I give this book 3/5 stars because it got fairly boring at times, and lost my attention often. About half-way through the book, though, it got more interesting. And for that, I am very grateful. This book had the best-worst cliff-hanger: it was a very good cliff-hanger, but now I want to read the next book very badly, but I can't because it won't be out for, like, a year, which is insanely frustrating. And I will be in suspense and wondering what happens until it comes out. So I hope the author's happy for causing me such anxiety.
review 2: I flat-out did not finish this book. Despite giving the first book in this series a three star rating (uber generous), I could not stomach this second part past the first 50 pages. Messenger's writing leaves a lot to be desi... morered, not to mention the slapstick plotting and pacing. Just, very amateur is the best I can say about this story. I really wish I could like it, but I really can't. Sorry, not sorry. less
