review 1: I really love Shaun Tan's unfinished style. Elements like scotch tape or page wrinkles make it seem more like you are flipping through someone's actual sketchbook. This book included some sketches of familiar scene's from his other books (The Arrival, Tales from Outer Suburbia.) It's a good book to flip through when you've got ten minutes here and there. Equal parts unsettling surrealism and everyday familiarity.
review 2: Have you ever wanted to read a book that just is mainly pictures. Well this is the book for you. It has about 4 paragraphs and the rest is pictures. The pictures are kind of unusual because it has like a picture of a water buffalo standing up telling people what to do or there are alien creatures and lots of others. I like this book though be
... morecause it only took me about 20 minutes to look at the pictures mainly and read the paragraphs that were in it. I really and not sure what it is about or the main point. Maybe it is for a artist to see pictures or IDK!!! But anyhow, I would recommend this book to others especially if they are tired of reading words and want to look at pictures. All in all, this book was fantastic or maybe just good. less
