review 1: In this third book in the Only Forever series, we meet Calvin and Matt. Matt, a nurse at the hospital Calvin works at becomes infatuated at first sight with the beautiful doctor. However, Calvin doesn't make things easy for him and Matt learns he will have to fight for him if he really wants him. The bet seemed a little far-fetched, but I guess it served its purpose of adding a bit of angst and an obstacle to their story. I liked Calvin's relationship with Barnaby and how even though he is definitely the older brother, he had no problem seeking comfort from Barnaby when he needed him. I especially liked Calvin because not everybody has an open, bubbly personality. He was standoffish and serious at times and it was fun to see Matt pursue him. As for Matt, though his appeare... morence was that of a bad boy, his personality was the complete opposite. He was the mushy romantic and his and Calvin's relationship wouldn't have stood a chance if he hadn't persisted.
review 2: There is no way I can possibly top what both Ivan and Eyre have said about this book. I will say that the "Only" series is one of the best homoerotic romance series I've read in a long time. When I met Calvin in Barnaby's story, I honestly didn't know if I would like him or not. At face value, he comes off kind of cold and uncaring so I was a little bit doubtful that I would warm up to him.How wrong could I be?As usual, Shawn's characterization is amazing. She somehow took a character that most people would find gorgeous, but unlikable, and turned him into a man who is warm, intelligent, vulnerable and loveable. I'm shocked that Calvin has ended up being one of my favorite characters that she has written.Of course, who could resist the sexy and alluring Matt? I loved his determination to plant himself firmly into Calvin's heart. If you haven't read this series and you're a fan of M/M romance, you should treat yourself with this amazing series.I really can't wait until Drew's book:) less
