review 1: Amazing book - it asked the hard question - when hard times comes what am I holding to ? The lies or the promises - It is a book that makes you evaluate how you evualate life's drama big and small. She doesn't profess to know all the answers but she is pointing you to Christ with warning some questions aren't answer on this side of eternity. Thanks Sheila for reminding me of some truths I had forgotten and giving me new ways of thinking on some old ones.
review 2: It was some of rough start reading this book. However, as I got into it, into the different promises, it held my attention. I liked how she started each chapter with a struggle and then a promise supported by scripture. Then she went on with her own experience or those that she knew, and then a sto... morery in the bible that went along. There was some profound statements that left me to reflect but not as much as I had hoped. I love the title for this book and the hope that it brings. The only fault I have is I felt like this book was not complete in many ways. I am not sure if it was not balanced with the character of God vs. our experience with God. Our experience of God is a great testimony to what He is doing and how our lives are being transformed, however, to get any real meat, you need more of the character of God. less
