review 1: I really liked The Pace, especially the romance between Wes and Sophie. The broken lake had a bit more romance and a surprise here and there, but the overall story was lacking the magic the first one had. I have to say my favorite part of the entire book is when they all go to Virginia and are stuck in the cabin! There was so much going on with Wes and Sophie's relationship! The ending was no surprise, I mean seriously with all that foreshadowing in the beginning of the book, you knew what was going to happen. He broke his promise. Gah.
review 2: The Broken Lake was wonderful. It wasn't as good as The Pace. It was kind of slow, nothing really happened, but I still really liked it. I think it was kind of like a fill in novel, a breather book after the fast pacin... moreg and action of the Pace, and maybe a breather before The Iron Quill. This novel slows down, and you get to see more of what the characters are feeling, and just learn more about them and what they're like. The characters were amazing, and the writing was beautiful. The love story is romantic and perfect. It just makes me smile at the sweet love that Wes and Sophie share. I loved the Broken Lake, and I can't wait for The Iron Quill to see how it all ends, and if they'll ever find a way to stay together. less
