review 1: Short but sweet for sure with this Fairy installment.Isaac has always known he was different. Never seemed to fit anywhere, get close to anyone or found his place in life but that was all down to the fact that he knew this wasn't the life he was destined to lead. Ella is a fabulous dress maker to the stars who's left a string of broken hearts in her wake, oh and she's a Fairy. Kind of an important fact huh?Ella knew Isaac was different the moment she stepped into his home and laid eyes on him but she wasn't the one with the power of premonition...I haven't read the previos Annwyn books but they were unnecessary due to this being an easily read stand alone.Ella is the sort of fantasy woman we all wish we could be, fun and free with a destiny all her own. Her and Isaacs chem... moreistry is sizzling and I love his silent but strong nature, very intriguing.The story was set over a short period of time which suited the length of the novel as it didn't feel rushed. If anything the premise was really catchy and could have easily been developed into a full lenth story.Definitely will be reading the rest of The Court of Annwyn books
review 2: Absorbing storytelling and all the makings of a great story. I would have given it 4 stars but for the ending. Unfortunately the story leaped into the HEA epilogue just as the fairy heroine and changeling hero reached Annwyn. Isaac's visions of the future were cleverly used to take the place of describing the battle for succession to Annwyn's throne - that is, to substitute for the absent second half of the book. The only problem was, this substitution just didn't feel satisfying. I had no chance to experience the development of attraction between Isaac and Ella into love. This is a novella that wanted to be a novel. less
