review 1: I picked the first book in this series as a freebie on Amazon because of the cover art and I was looking for a paranormal romance novella. I liked it, but didn't immediately rush out to get the rest of the series. I have never read anything about Goblins and have never seen Labyrinth (a lot of other reviewers have), so I really had no frame of reference for this story. Overall, it was just OK. I liked the writing style, the characters, and that it wasn't your usual vampire and shifter fare. BUT, this was a bit too perfect for my taste. They were a bit too perfect. There wasn't a lot of drama or challenge and I really don't see the point of this book except to have another book in the series.
review 2: Well this is the first one in this series where I actually
... morerecognised Perth in the descriptions. I enjoyed that about this one. I also enjoyed the poor tortured hero who basically had to remember how to be human. The coincidence of his lady love's mother being killed by goblins was a little hard to swallow but meh!The writing was nicely done and it was a good wrap up to the adventures of the celtic warriors but even though I enjoyed each book very much I couldn't help feeling like something was missing. Perhaps the whole paranormal in Australia doesn't ring true because I live here? I don't know, if you had the power to live anywhere in the world would you choose Perth? I know I know, you Perth people will start denouncing me now. Don't get me wrong Perth is a lovely city but can you see it as a hotbed of paranormal activity?Anyway, not sure if that was what it was or whether it was something else but I did like the series enough to write a review and that is all that counts isn't it? less
