review 1: I'm inclined to agree with those who said you can get as much from the author's TED Talk as by reading the book. If it weren't for the middle section which had some good practical examples, I'd have give it two stars. Finally, I'm puzzled that the guy who is so clear about the "why" for business has to resort to chemicals to explain all of human behavior and can't seem to grasp a higher "why" for life itself beyond random, purposeless evolution. The wonderful principles of serving and caring for others is almost completely shrouded in an explanation of selfish urges for chemical 'hits.'
review 2: I enjoyed the connection made between the hormonal old-self of the human brain, and the (really broken) modern-self of the current corporate brain (and body). It gave
... moreand reinforced some insight into why we do what we do, and how to better control our own and others' productivity through realising that we actually need to create a safe and nurturing environment before our brains and bodies will open up to a more productive way of working and living. less
