review 1: I should disclaimer that I gave it a two because I utterly DETESTED the ending. There were other things I hated too, but I was willing to forgive them for the sake of a very good story but then the final two pages happened and I'm not longer feeling very forgiving. I. Absolutely. Hated. It. And not because it wasn't a "happy" ending, whatever that is, but because it took what was so novel and fresh and not the same old fairytale about the first book and made them redundant and stale and the same old fairytale. So. There you go. There was SO MUCH he could have done with this. I was waiting for it. Waiting for the twist. Instead, nope. Haven't felt this irritated since the final ten minutes of the BSG series finale, to be honest. Well, and when SPN decided to kill off Abbadd... moreon for no apparent reason when SHE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL. Yep, I said it.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book, one thing because of the ending, then ending was totally out of control and I couldn't stop reading it! Like I would expect a real happily ever after, like Sophie finds a evil but not evil anymore love, and Agatha gets back Tedros, and Tedros doesn't want to kill Sophie anymore, etc, and Sophie and Agatha are still best friends. But the ending was the totally different, and was the exacted opposite of what I was thinking. What happened was Agatha thought Sophie betrayed her and was going to kiss Tedros, and then Agatha kissed Tedros and betrayed Sophie who just wanted to keep Agatha as a friend forever, then the school master came back to life, and Sophie kissed him since evil's love is the strongest thing against good, and so there a silence, and then Sophie and the school master fly away on some sort of cloud, and then the story is over. Which kind of makes me wonder for the next book, what will happen? And now since the possibilities are really endless. I don't know. less
